It all started when via FaceTime her grandson Jaxson asked for a bedtime story about "...the ceiling fan because it's making a funny noise." Turns out there was a dust bunny up there, and he was singing. (Not well. Hence the noise.) Week after week, Jaxson kept asking for more stories about that little dust bunny, until Lisa finally gave him a name - Larry. When she couldn't get him out of her head she did what made perfect sense. She asked God to give her the words He wanted her to write. Ten minutes later, Larry the Dust Bunny had his first book. And honestly, who can resist a story about a dust bunny?
Lisa writes explicitly Christian, Bible-based stories for children ages 3–8 that are equal parts giggly and God-centered. With three degrees in English and Education and twelve years of teaching high school, she knows a thing or two about what makes words stick. She's the founder of Campbell Jane Publishing, her own independent publishing house, and Restoring Your Voice, a faith-based writing program for women who are finding their way back to purpose through words.
Her inspiration lives close to home, in the bright eyes of her grandchildren and the wide open beauty of the farm where she lives with her husband. (A Larry adventure set at a farm is in the works; Jaxson approved).
When she's not writing, you'll find Lisa hiking, kayaking, biking, reading, or curating the perfect cup of creamer with just a little bit of coffee. She lives life fully and gratefully, and it shows up on every page.
Writing is Lisa's calling. Her purpose. And it was predicted way back in sixth grade by a teacher who handed her a graded paper and said, "I can't wait to see your name on the cover of a book someday."
